BMW unveils the all-new 2 Series

BMW 220i M Sport Coupé

SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp., the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines unveiled the all-new BMW 220i M Sport. The all-new 2 Series Coupé is your traditional sports car with the engine up front driving the rear wheels. The coupé’s compact dimensions give it excellent driving dynamics and its athletic lines represent BMW’s new design language.

Exterior

In front, you’ll notice full LED headlights flanking the horizontal kidney grille with horizontally arranged air intake flaps. These open and close automatically when there is need for increased airflow into the engine bay. The 220i M Sport is equipped with the M Aerodynamic Package which also includes the M High Gloss Shadow Line, M Rear Spoiler and M Sport Suspension. It rolls on 18-inch double-spoke style M light-alloy wheels.

Interior

Inside, the first thing you’ll see in the driver-centric cabin is the M leather steering wheel with paddle shifters and seats in an Alcantara / Sensatec combination upholstery. The interior is accented in high gloss piano black and brushed aluminum and the headliner is in anthracite. There’s the new ambient lighting system which allows you to set the mood for the kind of drive you want. The 10 – speaker BMW hifi loudspeaker system infotainment system has a 10.25-inch widescreen display. It also comes with BMW’s Live Cockpit Plus with BMW’s iDrive Operating System 7.0, compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

Powerplant

Under the hood is a BMW TwinPower (twinscroll) Turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder gasoline engine which puts out 184-HP between 5000-6500 rpm with 300-Nm of torque, between 1350-4000 rpm and mated to an eight-speed Automatic Transmission with Steptronic Sport.

Comfort and convenience

Starting the engine is made easy with the Comfort Access system, allowing you start the car without taking the key out of your pocket. It’s equipped with an Automatic Stop-Start function, Cruise Control with braking function, Variable sport steering and Parking Assistant. The Through Loading System expands cargo space in the trunk when the rear seats are folded forward.

Safety

There are front and side airbags for the driver and passenger, front and rear head airbags, side impact protection, Anti-lock Braking system (ABS), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), run-flat indicator, crash sensor and doors lock when you drive.  

The all-new BMW 220i M Sport Coupé is priced at P3,690,000and comes with a comprehensive five-year BMW warranty.
