Nearly 50,000 local absentee voting accomplished ballots have already been received by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

As of May 5, the partial report of the Comelec showed that the number of LAV accomplished ballots received by the Reception and Custody Units was already at 47,600.
These are as from the Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Navy, Philippine National Police, DepEd, BJMP, BFP, Media, Comelec, DILG, PCG, DFA, Public Attorney's Office, and National Power Corporation.
The Comelec earlier set local absentee voting for the May 2022 polls from April 27 to 29.
On Friday, a briefing for the Special Electoral Boards, who will count the LAV ballots, was held at the Comelec office in Intramuros, Manila.
The LAV ballots will be counted on May 9.
Meanwhile, 458,324 voters (27 percent) have already voted overseas.
These are from the Asia Pacific Region 167,856; European Region 45,964; Middle East and African Region 173,229; North and Latin American Region 71,274.
There are 1.6 million registered voters overseas.
Overseas voting period is from April 10 to May 9.
