Mayor Belmonte thanks INC for support on re-election bid

Incumbent Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte on Thursday, May 5, thanked the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) for supporting her re-election bid in the upcoming May 9 elections.

“Lubos ko pong ikinagagalak ang karangalan na ako’y muling pagkatiwalaan ng Kapatiran ng Iglesia ni Cristo sa pamumuno ng minamahal at ginagalang na Tagapamahalang Pangkalahatan, Eduardo V. Manalo (I am very pleased with the honor that I am once again entrusted by the Brotherhood of Iglesia ni Cristo under the leadership of the beloved and respected Executive Minister, Eduardo V. Manalo)," Belmonte said.

“Hinding- hindi ko po sasayangin ang tiwala ninyo. Kung ako po ay palaring mahalal muli bilang alkalde ng Lungsod Quezon, makakaasa po kayo na ang aking pag-serbisyo sa taong bayan ay ayon sa pangangailangan ng sambayanan at sa ma turo ng Dakilang Amang Lumikha (I will never waste your trust. If I will get re-elected as mayor of Quezon City, you can hope that my service to the people will be in accordance with the needs of the people and the teachings of the Great Creator Father), ”she added.

Belmonte runs for second term as mayor in Quezon City under the Serbisyo sa Bayan Party (SBP).

The INC also endorsed Arjo Atayde, who runs for the city's first district representative under Belmonte's party.
