SSS taps ShopeePay as collecting partner

Self-employed, voluntary, non-working spouse, and land-based Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) members may now pay their contributions using ShopeePay, the Social Security System (SSS) announced.

In a statement, Michael G. Regino, president and chief officer said on Wednesday, May 4, that ShopeePay, a remittance sub-agent of CIS Bayad Center, Inc., has been accredited by the pension fund as its collecting partner.

ShopeePay is a digital wallet, accessible through the Shopee App, wherein users can make safe and cashless payments for online transactions such as bill payments and other transactions.

“Our members and employers need secure and convenient methods for their SSS payments, especially during this time of the pandemics” Regino said.

“We thank all our accredited collecting partners for making this possible by helping us provide additional payment options for our members and employers,” he added.

The SSS has various accredited bank and non-bank collecting partners that offer over-the-counter and online payment options. These are in addition to the Automated Tellering System facilities located in SSS branches.
