Rains expected in Caraga, Davao Region, extreme N. Luzon; fair weather in the rest of PH

The easterlies and frontal system are expected to bring some rains over some parts of Mindanao and extreme northern Luzon in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday, May 4.

Cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms may prevail over Caraga and Davao Region due to the easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean.

Batanes and Babuyan Islands may also have cloudy skies and rains may because of the frontal system.

PAGASA said those in areas affected by the easterlies and frontal system should remain vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides due to the occurrence of moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA also advised the public to stay vigilant during severe thunderstorms, which are often associated with bursts of heavy rainfall, lightning, thunder, and gusty winds that usually last up to two hours, as these may trigger flash floods or landslides.
