Duterte wishes VP-elect daughter 'good health and success'

President Duterte is wishing his daughter, Vice President-elect Sara Duterte-Carpio, success as she is set to lead the second highest seat in the country.

"The President wishes for our vice president-elect good health and success in her role as the second highest official of the land," Communication Secretary Martin Andanar said in a press briefing on Tuesday.

During Duterte-Carpio's proclamation by the Congress on May 25, President Duterte was not present. On the other hand, President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s family was in full attendance.

Duterte-Carpio also did not answer media questions about the absence of her family members.

During the campaign period, Duterte expressed his full support to his daughter, while her partner, Marcos Jr., did not get any endorsement from him.
