The Antaeus Theater Company returns to live performances, launching its new season with Shakespeare's "Hamlet." Playing the title role is Ramon de Ocampo, a long-time company member and the first Filipino to breathe life to the tragic character.

De Ocampo has done other Shakespeare roles for the Glendale based troupe, and he is the narrator and host of Antaeus "The Zip Code" plays now in their third season. 

On the challenge of playing Hamlet, he said: "I think anyone who's played Hamlet realizes it's the biggest role they'll ever play. "

Born in the Philippines, he is the son of former finance secretary Robert Ocampo, the current Chairman of the Philippine Veterans Bank. An accomplished Television, Film, Stage, and Voice actor, Ramón was raised just outside of Washington, DC, in Virginia. He graduated with a BFA (summa cum laude) in Acting from the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama, in Pittsburgh.

Ramón is best known for his Television work, especially for his recurring roles on Notorious, Guidance, 12 Monkeys, The West Wing, Medium, Killer Instinct, Sons of Anarchy, and Major Crimes; As well as memorable guest starring roles, most recently on: HAWAII 5-0, NCIS: New Orleans, CSI: Cyber, the Player, Castle, Bones, CSI, NCIS, and Gang Related, to name a few.

His film work includes: “30 Nights” (with Dan Fogler), “Happy Endings” (with Maggie Gyllenhaal, dir Don Roos), “xXx: State of the Union” (Ice Cube, Willem DaFoe, Samuel L. Jackson), “Hamlet” (Campbell Scott), and “I am I” (Simon Helberg, Jason Ritter, Jocelyn Towne,) among others.
