Woman shot dead after serving cup of coffee to suspect in Calauag, Quezon

CALAUAG, Quezon – A woman was shot dead by an unidentified gunman in front of her husband after serving the suspect with a cup of coffee on Sunday morning in Sitio Tinambolan, Barangay Pinagsakayan in this town.

The victim, who died on the spot due to a gunshot wound at the back of the head, was identified as Marilou Recentes, 55, a resident of the said place.

The suspect was described by a witness as wearing a blue t-shirt, jogging pants, about 5’6 in height, slim and with curly hair.

Andres Recentes, 60, husband of the victim, told the police investigator that around 5:30 a.m. the suspect arrived while he and his wife were in their rest house.

He told the police that the suspect asked for a cup of coffee which they served, but, without any reason, the suspect shouted ‘dapa kayo para walang masaktan’ (lie down, so no one gets hurt) drew a handgun from his sling bag, and shot the victim, then fled.

Police conducted a follow-up and in-depth investigation for possible identification and the arrest of the suspect.
