Three notorious robbers in Nueva Vizcaya arrested inside videoke bar

NUEVA VIZCAYA – Three robbery suspects were arrested inside a videoke bar where they drank and spent a few hours after victimizing an ukay-ukay stall in barangay Poblacion in Aritao town on Saturday, May 28.

Police Executive Master Sergeant Allan Jalmasco, investigator-on-case, identified the suspects as Jackson Siagto, resident of Canabuan, Aritao; Serafin and Orly, who are both minors and residents of barangay Bantinan, Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya.

According to the police, a staff of the videoke bar was surprised to see that the customers had plenty of money.

The police added that the staff also had the chance to unknowingly follow one of the suspects when he tried to go outside the videoke bar.

“Napansin ng staff ng videoke bar na ang lalaking isa ay kumuha ng butas na sako saka niya kinuha ang isang pato saka nya inilagay sa utility box,” the police said, quoting the videoke bar staff.

“Agad naman itong sinumbong sa may-ari ng videoke bar at sa PNP station” Jalmasco added.

As it turned out, the suspects had just divested an ukay-ukay of its day’s earnings earlier.

The ukay-ukay the suspects robbed off is owned by a certain Rulen Olianto, 43, resident of Ocao Capinia-an, Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya. Olianto immediately reported the matter to the authorities.

According to police reports, Olianto was awakened when she noticed that unidentified male perpetrators forcibly opened the wooden wall of her ukay ukay stall in Barangay Poblacion at around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday.

The suspects used it as a point of entry and exit in the ukay ukay from where they were able to get Olianto’s daily earnings amounting to P12,000.

The perpetrators left the place but Olianto, the victim, noticed a parked motorcycle outside her stall. The motorcycle turned out to be what the suspects used as their getaway. They fled to an unknown direction.

As if to enjoy the success in the ukay-ukay heist, the suspects went for a drink in a videoke bar in the nearby Barangay Banganan.

With the help of CCTV, the suspects were positively identified as the same suspects that robbed an ukay-ukay.

“Natukoy na ang tatlo na nagnakaw sa ukay ukay matapos na sila ay maireport din sa pulis na sangkot sila sa pagnanakaw naman ng pato na inilagay sa utility box ng kanilang motor,” Jalmasco told Manila Bulletin.
