70 million Filipinos now fully vaccinated vs Covid-19

The Philippines recorded another milestone in its ongoing fight against Covid-19 as more than 70 million Filipinos are now fully vaccinated.

Based on the national Covid-19 vaccination dashboard, a total of 70,790,342 individuals have already completed their two-dose primary series vaccination as of May 28.

Of the fully vaccinated, 2.9 million are healthcare workers, 7.9 million are senior citizens, 9.6 million are persons with comorbidities.

Also included are 19.5 million workers, 9.2 million indigents, and 21.3 million from the rest of the population.

Meanwhile, the regions with the most number of fully vaccinated people are Metro Manila with 9.6 million, Calabarzon with 6.7 million, and Central Luzon with 5.4 million.

The government is aiming to fully vaccinate 77 million Filipinos by the end of June, the Department of Health (DOH) previously said.

The DOH and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) both urged the local government units to further intensify their vaccination efforts.

“Getting vaccinated is the best-defense and best long-term solution in this pandemic,” the DOH said.
