According to Korea’s Hanteo Chart, “Face the Sun” sold a total of 1,758,565 copies on May 27 and topped the daily album chart.

In just one day, the total surpassed the first-week sales of Seventeen’s previous album “Attacca,” which garnered 1,335,862 copies.

With this, Seventeen achieved the “million seller” status for the sixth straight time. BTS and Seventeen are the only K-pop artists who have sold more than one million copies in just one day of album release.

Before its release, “Face the Sun” accumulated 2.2 million copies in pre-orders. “Attacca” ended 2021 with 1,966,060 copies sold based on Hanteo Chart’s count and placed second in the yearly album chart.

On the other hand, “Your Choice” sold 1,412,120 copies in 2021 and placed fourth in the yearly album ranking.

During their press conference for the album on May 27 at Conrad Seoul, Seventeen revealed that their wish is to be No. 1 on the Billboard charts.

“Attacca” peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 and Joshua said he hoped that Seventeen will rank higher this time.

“We ranked 13th place on the Billboard 200 for ‘Attacca.’ That was a new record for us. To be completely honest, I hope we can go even higher than the last album with our fourth studio album 'Face the Sun,'” he said.

Seungkwan said he wanted “Face the Sun” to be No. 1 on Billboard.

“I’ve been saying that we want to enter the Billboard charts since ‘Your Choice.’ I just want to say that I want to top the Billboard chart this time. We’ve been also shown the celebration that we are going to do when we top the chart. Just really want to top the chart just once please!” he said.
