Puregold Aling Puring app lets sari-sari store owners expand

With the new Aling Puring app, Puregold has shown that it continues to champion sari-sari store and small business owners in the country.

“Nasa puso ng Puregold ang mga sari-sari stores because they bring and connect Puregold to areas where we are not present yet. They’re our representatives in serving their communities,” said Puregold President, Vincent Co.

The app aims to transform every member store into an Always Panalo one-stop shop.

The Aling Puring app opens e-commerce opportunities to all Tindahan Ni Aling Puring members — from mobile load, bills payment, and cash-in for digital wallets. It is also connected to the Puregold Mobile application for easy ordering and replenishment of stocks.

The app was launched during the Tindahan Ni Aling Puring Negosyo Convention 2022, which returned after a two-year hiatus. Puregold is the first retailer to hold a massive on-ground event; strongly supported by 108 partner Suppliers. This three-day convention garnered nearly 30,000 attendees.

Tindahan Ni Aling Puring is Puregold’s customized and holistic membership program that allows sari-sari stores and other small business owners to enjoy free delivery, business financing assistance and free insurance. The program currently has over 600,000 members.

Members of Tindahan Ni Aling Puring can accumulate cashback points and rewards from purchases. Puregold also offers competitive pricing and exclusive promotions across categories.

Despite the pandemic, Puregold grew its Aling Puring membership by 15 percent — from 575,000 members at end-2020 to 660,000 members at end-2021.

At the start of the pandemic, a lot of Filipinos were displaced from their jobs and many of them ventured into livelihood activities like opening sari-sari stores. 

Puregold started accepting applications online for those who couldn’t go to physical stores. Aling Puring Account Representatives also went around to accept applications and talk to the members who weren’t able to leave their homes. During the pandemic, Puregold rolled out close to 2,000 Baratilyo Caravans to different cities and localities, giving Tindahan Ni Aling Puring members and regular customers access to goods without having to commute or travel far.
