Sen. Imee: 16M huge gap, majority given to BBM a restoration of faith, confidence on Marcos family

Senator Imee Marcos on Wednesday (May 25) expressed her gratitude to Filipino voters who gave her brother, President-elect Ferdinand ‘’Bongbong’’ R. Marcos Jr, a huge majority in the May 9, 2022 presidential election.

The 16-million vote gap between young Marcos and Vice President Leni Robredo meant the "restoration of faith and confidence with my family," Marcos said.

"I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Marcos pa rin, mula noon hanggang ngayon! (The name Marcos remains.. from the past to the present). Maraming salamat sa ating lahat! (Thank you all)," she added.

Congress, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) has proclaimed Marcos, Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio as the new president and vice president of the Philippines on evening of Wednesday, May 25.
