The Las Piñas City government rolled out the second booster shot for senior citizens and health workers in 13 vaccination sites in the city on Monday, May 23..
Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the city government is targeting around 3,900 senior citizens and health workers per day or around 300 individuals who will be getting their second booster shots in every vaccination site.
Aguilar said seven open community sites, namely, the covered courts in Verdant, Golden Acres, Almanza Uno, San Antonio, Bambusetum, Gatchalian, and T.S Cruz were added to the existing six vaccination sites being used by the city government in administering vaccines for the first and second doses and the booster shots against Covid-19.
She said the City Health Office (CHO) had started reaching out to senior citizens and health workers who are scheduled to receive their second booster shot.
The mayor said the vaccine recipients have been informed through text message for them to determine the time and venue in receiving their second booster shot.
Aguilar also reminded senior citizens and health workers to bring their vaccination cards, valid IDs, and to show the text message they received before they can obtain their second booster shot.
She urged all senior citizens and health workers to receive the second booster jabs for their own protection and to strengthen their immunity against Covid-19 as more contagious Omicron subvariants continue to emerge.
