PH CEOs to brief investors -- PSE

Chief executives and key finance officers of 15 publicly-listed companies (PLCs) in the country will brief fund managers, equities analysts and investors on their first quarter financial performance and business strategies in the new normal.

The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) said it is hosting the virtual event, dubbed PSE STAR (Strengthening Access and Reach): Investor Day, from May 24 to 26, 2022. The event is co-hosted by Bloomberg L.P. with the Fund Managers Association of the Philippines (FMAP) and Trust Officers Association of the Philippines (TOAP) as event partners.

PSE said the event aims to help drive stock liquidity in non-PSE index companies so as to encourage them to do follow-on offerings.

“The PSE STAR: Investor Day serves as a one-stop shop for company updates straight from CEOs and CFOs of 15 PLCs,” said PSE President and CEO Ramon S. Monzon.

He noted that, “We are pleased to offer a platform for these non-PSE index and recently listed companies to come together to provide relevant corporate information and developments to the event participants.”

“We hope this briefing will help investors and analysts understand the prospects of these companies, which are mostly comprised of second-tier issues and gauge the value of their stocks listed in the PSE,” Monzon added.

“By communicating their story and their growth plans and strategy, we hope to see improved liquidity among these non-PSEi stocks. Attracting new investors, which will increase demand for its shares, may even prompt these companies to do follow-on offerings in the next year or so.”

Day 1 will kick off with a message from Monzon while executives who will address the Investor Day audience include Monde Nissin Corporation CFO Jesse C. Teo; Max's Group, Inc. President Isaias Ariel P. Fermin; Century Pacific Food, Inc. Executive Chairman Christopher T. Po; The Keeper's Holdings, Inc. President Jose Paulino L. Santamarina; and Axelum Resources Corporation CFO Marie Z. Paguirigan.

Speakers for Day 2 are Filinvest Land, Inc. President Tristaneil D. Las Marias; RL Commercial REIT, Inc. Chairman Frederick D. Go; Megawide Construction Corporation Chairman Edgar B. Saavedra; Cemex Holdings Philippines, Inc. Vice President for Planning and Administration Alejandro García; and AllDay Marts, Inc. President Frances Rosalie T. Coloma.

Day 3 will have in the roster China Banking Corporation CFO Patrick D. Cheng, Security Bank Corporation CFO Chief Financial Officer Eduardo M. Olbes, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation President Lorelie Quiambao-Osial, Nickel Asia Corporation Vice President for Public and Social Affairs Group Jose Bayani D. Baylon, and Converge Information and Communications Technology Solutions, Inc. CFO Advisor Matthias Vukovich. PSE Chief Operating Officer Atty. Roel A. Refran will deliver the closing message.

Aside from the company briefings, Bloomberg economists and analysts will provide their outlook on the economy and the food and beverage, property, construction, services, financials, and mining sectors.

The PSE STAR: Investor Day platform will also have virtual booths for each participating PLC that attendees may visit.

The booths will showcase relevant corporate materials and videos and will allow investors to interact with company representatives who may be online during the event proper. Investors may also leave queries or questions though the PLC booths.
