Voters were urged by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to bring "kodigo" or list of their preferred candidates when they vote on May 9.

Comelec Commissioner George Garcia believes having a list will help speed up the voting process.
"Bring your 'kodigo' so that you won't have to think there as that would take you 5 to 7 minutes. If you have 'kodigo,' it would take you only 3 minutes," he said in a television interview Monday, May 2.
Garcia said voters may make use of the voters information sheet as their "kodigo."
The VIS contains the name of the voter, the polling precinct, do's and dont's in voting, and the candidates.
The Comelec is currently in the process of distributing the VIS to the 65.7 million registered voters.
As of May 2, it already distributed more than 46 million of the VIS.
The Comelec expects long queues outside polling precincts as the number of voters that will be accommodated will be limited to 10 at a time.
"Before we allow 10 to 15 people but now maybe half only," said Garcia.
"That's the reason why we extended the voting hours from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. because we know that there will be long queues at the entrance where there will be temperature check, and where voters will inquire in the voters assistance desk," he added.
