Valenzuela to start administering 2nd Covid-19 booster to seniors, health workers

The Valenzuela City government announced on Thursday, May 19, that the second Covid-19 booster for senior citizens, aged 60 and above, and health workers will start on Friday, May 20.

Residents and non-residents can visit the Valenzuela City Astrodome from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m daily to get their second booster jabs.

Vaccine recipients should present their “ValTrace” quick response (QR) codes, “VCVax Passport” or vaccination card, booster cards, a valid or government issued identification card which will serve as proof that they are health workers or seniors.

Those with comorbidities are required to show a medical certificate they obtained within the past six months.

The local government said that only up to 800 individuals will be vaccinated per day on a first come, first served basis.

It said that only those who got their first Covid-19 booster shots four or more months prior to their vaccination day will be vaccinated with the second booster. The vaccine brands that will be given to individuals are Pfizer and Moderna.

It added that Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and their immediate family members are not yet included in the vaccinations. They are reminded to check for the Department of Health’s announcement on their schedules.
