'Nakakahiya': Rodriguez comments on Pinoys' anti-Marcos sentiments in Australia

Lawyer Vic Rodriguez has slammed the Filipinos in Australia who created a ruckus down under by claiming that presumptive Philippine president Bongbong Marcos isn't welcome there.

"Nakakahiya. Nakakahiya bilang Pilipino nakakahiya. Hindi ugali ng Pilipino hiyain at pahiyain ang kapwa niya Pilipino sa isang bansa na hindi naman Pilipinas (Embarrassing. Being a Filipino, it's embarrassing. It's unlike Filipinos to embarrass fellow Filipinos in a country that isn't the Philippines)," Rodriguez, Marcos's spokesperson and chief-of-staff, said in a press conference Tuesday, May 17.

Marcos is currently in vacation with his family in Australia. He is scheduled to come back to the Philippines on Thursday.

"I think the best authority or person to say whether he is welcome or not are the Australian government, not fellow Filipino na nandun lang din punong puno ng poot at pait ang puso (who are only there with anger and bitterness in their hearts)," Rodriguez said.

"Uulitin ko: Wala sa kaugalian nating mga Pilipino ang hiyain ang kapwa mo Pilipino sa ibang bansa (I'll repeat: It's unlike Filipinos to embarrass their fellow Filipinos while in another country)," he said.

"Ang Pilipino ay kilala na nagtutulungan. Mababait tayo. Huwag niyo hong gawin yan sa ibang bansa sa ibang bayan. Wala ho kayong ibang agenda kundi palaganapin ang inyong poot at pait sa inyong puso (Filipinos are known to help each other. We are a kind people. Please don't to that in another country. You have no other agenda but to spread the anger and bitterness from your hearts)," he further said.
