Malacañang congratulates new SC Associate Justice Singh

Malacañang on Wednesday expressed confidence that newly-appointed Supreme Court (SC) Associate Justice Maria Filomena Singh would continue to uphold excellence in the High Court, with her being a former Court of Appeals (CA) associate justice.

In a statement, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said the Palace congratulates Singh on her appointment.

Malacañang also said it is confident that Singh would uphold independence in the SC.

"We wish AJ Singh success in her new assignment," the statement read.

On Wednesday, President Duterte appointed Singh to SC, the High Court's 194th Associate Justice. Prior to this, she was the Senior Member of the CA Second Division.
