PPCRV: 53,644 of 54,412 fully-encoded ERs match electronically-transmitted copies

The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) on Tuesday, May 17, said that their latest poll return validation showed that 53,644 out of 54,412 physical and fully-encoded electronic returns (ERs) have matched the electronically-transmitted copies.

Church-backed PPCRV said that 54,412 physical ERs have so far been full-encoded as of Monday, May 16.

These ERs went through a validation process called “matching,” producing a match rate of 98.57 percent.

“The difference can be accounted for as follows: 14 have yet to be compared, 317 have no equivalent transmitted results, and 437 for revalidation, these subject ERs are going through another encoding process,” said PPCRV board member Agnes Cervacio in a press briefing.

Meanwhile, as of Thursday, May 17, a total of 75,107 physical ERs have arrived at PPCRV’s command center. This equates to at least 69.68 percent of the total ERs in the country.

PPCRV’s operations will continue until Friday, May 20. Upon being questioned if the poll watchdog aims to achieve a certain target for manually-encoded ERs, Dr. William Yu, PPCRV’s Board of Trustee said that they will “encode as much as possible.”

“Umabot na po tayo ng 50 percent of manually encoded and matched. We will encode as much as possible (We have already reached 50 percent of manually encoded and matched. We will encode as much as possible as long as we are here),” said Yu.
