Hundreds of fans were screaming last Sunday as the cast of Niña Niño performed at Robinson’s Pampanga to celebrate their season finale that will be telecast on May 19.
Led by our lead star Maja Salvador, the majestic superstar sang a few songs and thanked her fans for the success of the teleserye on TV 5 that lasted for two years. Among the cast members that performed onstage were Noel Comia Jr. Junyka Santarin, Rowi Du, Dudz, Lilet, Yayo Aguila, Jm Salvado and guest stars Jairus Aquino and Nanette Inventor. I was able to interview teen star Junyka Santarin and she would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for supporting Niña Niño. “Sobrang thankful po kami dahil sa opportunity na naibigay sa amin as cast ng Niña Niño para po magbigay kasiyahan at inspirasyon sa lahat ng tao. Taos-puso po kaming nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng tumatangkilik at sumusuporta sa amin hanggang dulo.”
For two years, fans were enamored by two siblings who ran away from the city and landed in Sta. Ynez hoping to seek help and refuge from the folks of the barrio. Little did they know that they will be the one to help the townsfolk sort out their problems.
On the finale season, find out if Niño (Noel Comia Jr.) will be able to heal his mother (Lilet) from cancer and if Niña (Maja) will finally forgive her mother from deserting them during their childhood. On my side of the story, Vanessa (that’s me), is faced with her husband returning to her and her daughter, Veronica (Mutya Orquia). Will the fierce Vanessa kick her husband’s face after deserting her and her daughter, leaving her to work for the family? And lastly, who will win the elections? Kap (Dudz) or Isay (Moi Bien) or Mang Fred (Kuya Jobert) ? Only by watching the season finale will you get to answer all my questions.
So what is the next chapter for the cast members. The future is looking bright for Maja Salvador’s lovelife as she finally ties the knot with PBA partylist representative Rambo Nuñez. In her YouTube account and other platforms of social media, she has announced that she and Rambo are now engaged to be married. Both are business partners of an artist management agency, Crown Artist management, that manages Maja’s career and other artists like John Lloyd Cruz and Jessie Salvador (Maja’s sister).
In terms of her career, she is still the dance queen of "Eat Bulaga" and is producing a new project she will announce soon. On my part, I start shooting a new comedy serye for Viva entitled Kalye Queens with Alma Moreno, Dina Bonnievie, and Marissa Sanchez.
To the producers of Niña Nińo I would like to thank CS Studios, TV 5 and Cignal for creating such a beautiful teleserye that gave hope to the Filipinos during pandemic that there is a God who will take care of us. Niña Niño may also be viewed in Netflix, but season 2 (where I am included) is not yet available in the said streaming platform. Season 1 and Season 2 are both available in Cignal’s streaming on demand app.
