Comelec to proclaim 'Magic 12' Wednesday

The 12 winning senators in the 2022 polls will be proclaimed Wednesday, May 18.

The Commission on Elections en banc, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), will officially proclaim the "Magic 12" at the Philippine International Convention Center Forum Tent in Pasay City at 4 p.m.

However, the poll body has yet to release the names of those to be proclaimed as of 3 p.m. Tuesday.

But based on the latest partial, official tally of the Comelec, the following are the consistent top vote getters Robin Padilla, Loren Legarda, RaffyTulfo, Sherwin Gatchalian, Chiz Escudero, Mark Villar, Alan Peter Cayetano, Juan Miguel Zubiri, Joel Villanueva, JV Ejercito, Risa Hontiveros, and Jinggoy Estrada.

As of Tuesday, the Comelec is already preparing the advisory for the senators-elect, as well as the invitation and program.

The senators-elect, which will pass through the red carpet, are allowed to bring five companions with them for the occasion.

They are expected to wear traditional Filipino clothes.
