39,882 of 40,521 fully-encoded physical election returns match electronically-transmitted copies – PPCRV

Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) on Sunday, May 15, disclosed that a total of 39,882 fully-encoded physical poll returns have matched the electronically-transmitted copies based on their third batch of validation.

As of Saturday, May 14, PPCRV said that it has received a total of 54,931 election returns (ERs). Of this number, only 40,521 have been encoded.

These fully-encoded copies underwent validation and based on the church-backed poll watchdog’s data, 39,882 ERs have matched the transmitted results. This indicates that the 98.42% match rate only includes about 37% of the total ERs in the country.

Meanwhile, the 639 difference is accounted for as follows: 49 have yet to be compared with transmitted ERs, 297 have no transmitted ERs, which means that PPCRV has yet to receive a digital copy of these results, while the remaining 308 will undergo revalidation.

PPCRV spokesperson Atty. Vann dela Cruz previously stated that revalidation is a “normal occurrence” and it is a part of the manual auditing process. Under revalidation, ERs will once again be reviewed and processed again manually.
