149 out of 173 COCs now canvassed by Comelec

Ten more certificates of canvass (COCs) have been counted by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc on the fifth day of national canvassing for senatorial and partylist elections on Saturday, May 14.

In total, 149 out of 173 COCs were so far canvassed by the Comelec en banc which sits as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.

Seven of the canvassed COCs were from overseas posts including Berlin, Stockholm, Lisbon, Berne, Buenos Aires, Brasilia, and Rabat.

The COCs from local absentee voting (LAV), South Cotabato, and Cebu City were also canvassed by the NBOC.

Only 24 COCs are yet to be counted by the NBOC, of which, 19 are manual overseas COCs, one manual COC for vulnerable sectors, and another COC for the 63 barangays in North Cotabato.

Three COCs will also be electronically transmitted including those for Lanao del Sur in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM); one electronic overseas COC for Hong Kong, and another electronic COC for Jordan.
