Street sweeper arrested for selling P197,000 worth of shabu — Taguig police

Taguig police arrested a street sweeper after she yielded P197,200 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in an entrapment operation on May 13.

Police said suspect Gina Batao, 49, was nabbed during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Bagong Pag-asa Gate 3, Barangay Western Bicutan in Taguig.

The sting was conducted by the Taguig Police’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) against the suspect.

Recovered from Batao were six plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 29 grams worth P197,200 and P500 buy-bust money.

Suspect is now under the custody of the Taguig police.

“I would like to commend Taguig Police on their latest accomplishment, this is manifestation of your hard work and dedication to keep Taguig City free from illegal drugs. I believe that our troops on the ground are giving their best to eradicate the supply and demand of drug in our area and as your district director, I am very appreciative about it, said Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, director of the Southern Police District.
