The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has welcomed the recent report of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) that the initial batch of its manually validated election returns yielded 100 percent match rate with the poll body's tally.

"We also thanked the PPCRV for making that statement that out of the 16,820 election returns that they have received, manually encoded and then examined based on 100 percent accuracy and matched," said Comelec Acting Spokesman John Rex Laudiangco in a press briefing on Friday, May 13.

"This is a testament to the accuracy and credibility of our elections and we perceived no issues dun sa mga remaining pa nila," he added.

Laudiangco also welcomed the recent pronouncement of UP School of Statistics that there is no irregularity in the vote ratio in the partial and unofficial tally of votes between presidential candidates former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Vice President Leni Robredo.

“Also, we would like to thank the UP School of Statistics for unequivocally stating that the ratio being circulated on socmed is not really an evidence of cheating,” said Laudiangco.

“They have stated that there is no anomaly in the elections to the point that using that argument is actually wrong as part of an analysis based on a cumulative total,” he added.

“Sabi pa nila (They also said), without a clear and unequivocal context, this percentage pattern is not an evidence of cheating in elections and this is likewise echoed by PPCRV as well as Namfrel and that of OCTA,” he furthered.
