Angono LGU to send campaign materials to recycling facilities

A truck full of campaign materials will be turned over to the town’s recycling facilities.

Mayor-elect Jeri Mae Calderon, in her Facebook page, announced that the campaign materials such as posters and banners, all made of tarpaulins, will be brought to the sorting and recycling facilities for proper disposition.

Dismantled campaign posters, streamers, and tarpaulins that were collected by municipal cleaners since May 10 will be brought to the Creative Economy Center, one of the recycling facilities in the municipality.

Following her proclamation by the Board of Canvassers, Calderon instructed the municipal cleaners to remove the campaign posters.

Calderon, who ran unopposed in the mayoral race, got a total of 47,058 votes in the recent polls. She and her father, Vice Mayor Gerardo ‘Gerry’ Calderon, who got 39,019 votes, have been proclaimed along with the town's eight councilors.

The daughter and father tandem thanked their constituents for their support following their proclamation as winners.

The Calderons have been advocating the so-called Zero Basura (zero waste) program and other pro-environment initiatives.
