Negros murder: Daughter allegedly conspires with boyfriend to kill mother

BACOLOD CITY – A mother who was opposed to her daughter’s relationship with her boyfriend was killed at her home in Barangay Robles, La Castellana, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, with the daughter herself and her boyfriend allegedly conspiring to commit the crime.

Capt. Rhojn Darell Nigos, La Castellana town police chief, said the 44-year-old victim, whose name was withheld, succumbed to two stab wounds each in the chest and arms, and a slash in the chest.

Nigos said that some of their neighbors heard noises from the victim’s house but they did not mind, since the victim was with her elderly mother and children.

The police recovered a knife from the crime scene.

According to the police, the victim was sleeping when her 17-year-old daughter allowed her 17-year-old boyfriend to enter their house that evening.

Nigos said the victim’s daughter was arrested at home, when police responded, as she was trying to clean the crime scene.

Nigos said the daughter initially denied her involvement in the crime, but police later found a lead through her wristband, wherein the name of her boyfriend was printed.

From there, the police went to the house of her boyfriend and also arrested him.

Nigos said the couple also later admitted the crime to the police, claiming that they got angry when the victim did not agree on their relationship.

Nigos also said that they were able to check the social media accounts of the couple, and discovered their messages wherein they planned the commission of crime, including which part of the victim’s body to be hit.

Parricide charges were already filed against the daughter, while murder charges would be filed against her boyfriend.
