Losing Taguig-Pateros congressional bet Cerafica thanks supporters

Allan Cerafica, who lost in his bid to become the congressman of the First District of Taguig-Pateros, thanked supporters and congratulated his rival.

In the May 9 election, Ading Cruz of the Nacionalista Party won as Taguig-Pateros congressman with 99,059 votes, a margin of 16,386 over Cerafica who received 82,673 votes.

Cerafica ran under the Partido Pilipino sa Pagbabago (PPP). His brother Arnel lost to Lani Cayetano for mayor of Taguig while Arnel’s wife, Janelle, lost in the vice mayoral election.

“Mula po sa pamilya CERAFICA ang taos puso kong pasasalamat sa mamayan ng Pateros. Sa muli ninyong pagbibigay ng inyong suporta, tiwala, pagmamahal at panalangin nitong nakaraang halalan (From the Cerafica family, my heartfelt thanks to the residents of Pateros for giving again your support, trust, love and prayers this past election),” Allan posted on Facebook.

He added, “Hindi man natin nakamit ang tagumpay sa Taguig para sa Distrito ng Taguig at Pateros. Asahan nyo po na si Allan Cerafica ay di magbabago. Mananatili po ang aming suporta sa ating bayan sa abot ng aming makakaya (While we did not achieve success in Taguig for the District of Taguig and Pateros, rest assured that Allan Cerafica will not change. Our support to our town will remain up to our very best).”

Cerafica congratulated the newly elected officials in Pateros from the two rival parties including Cruz.

“Congratulations sa inyong lahat. Alam ko po na ang tanging hangarin nating lahat ay paglingkuran ang nag iisang bayan sa NCR ang ISANG PATEROS. Goodluck sa buong pamunuan ni Mayor elect Atty Miguel Ike Ponce. (Congratulations to all. I know that our utmost goal is to serve the only municipality in the NCR, Pateros. Good luck to the leadership of Mayor-elect Atty. Miguel Ike Ponce),” he added.

There are 39,273 registered voters in Pateros, and during the May 9 elections, 33,228 voted for a turnout of 84.65 percent.
