Comelec to print more than 1K ballots for special polls in 2 brgys in Lanao Sur
More than 1,000 ballots will be printed at the National Printing Office in Quezon City for the special elections in two barangays in Lanao del Sur.

In a press briefing on Thursday, May 12, Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said 798 ballots will be printed for Brgy. Ragayan in Butig while 576 ballots will be printed for Brgy. Pindolonan in Binadayan.
The poll body on May 11 declared failure of elections in 14 barangays in the municipalities of Butig, Binadayan, and Tubaran in Lanao del Sur.
The Comelec en banc decided to adopt the recommendation of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Regional Election Director Ray Sumalipao to declare failure of polls in said areas involving more than 40 clustered precincts.
Failure of elections was declared in Ragayan and Pindolonan after the ballots there were either stolen or destroyed.
Laudiangco said there is no need to print ballots for the other 12 barangays in the municipality of Tubaran that will also hold special polls as these are intact.
The Comelec said special elections will be held in said areas on May 15, 2022 or on a date that the en banc deems proper.
