16,820 fully-encoded election returns yield 100% match, says PPCRV
Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) on Thursday, May 12, said that it has fully encoded a total of 16,820 election returns (ERs) so far and it yielded 100 percent match.
PPCRV spokesperson Atty. Vann Dela Cruz disclosed that as of 11:20 a.m., the poll watchdog has so far received 24,640 ERs.
“Mostly again coming from the (NCR), certain provinces of Luzon particularly in Pangasinan, Laguna, Bulacan, Cavite, Ilocos Norte, Sorsogon, and the province of Rizal,” said Dela Cruz.

“Meron na rin pong nakapasok galing sa MIndanao, mula sa Misamis Oriental. Sa Visayas po sa aming tala ay wala pa pong naipa-process (Some ERs from Mindanao have already entered. This specifically came from Misamis Oriental. In the Visayas, based on our record, nothing has been processed yet),” he furthered.
He then added that these 16, 820 ERs yielded 100 percent match when compared to the electronically-transmitted results.
The church-based poll watchdog’s tasks include monitoring the unofficial parallel count and validating the number of votes by comparing physical election returns to the electronically-transmitted ones. In relation to this, Dela Cruz debunked the circulating misconceptions that they are recounting the tally of votes.
“Wala po sa batas ‘yun. Hindi po ‘yun ang ginagawa namin. Hindi tayo nagre-recount kundi nagkukumpara (That is not in the law. That is not what we do. We do not recount, what we do is compare),” he reiterated.
