Senatorial candidate Antonio Trillanes IV and his Magdalo Party conceded on Wednesday, May 11, after failing to a secure a spot in the recently concluded May 9 elections.

“Ako at ang grupong Magdalo ay buong pusong tinatanggap ang desisyon ng sambayanang Pilipino (I and the group Magdalo wholeheartedly accept the decision of the Filipino people),” he posted on his social media accounts.
While the results are not favorable to them, Trillanes said they can feel that the spirit of democracy is alive in the country.
“Pinili ng mga Pilipino ang mga gusto nilang maging leader ng ating bansa (The Filipinos chose which leader they want for the country),” the Magdalo leader wrote.
“It may have been the most emotional campaign in our history, but it still turned out to be the most peaceful. Sa dakong huli, magkakaiba man ang ating paniniwala, lahat pa rin tayo ay mga Pilipino (In the end, whether our beliefs are different, we are all Filipinos),” he added.
Trillanes, who run under the ticket of Vice President Leni Robredo and running mate Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, thanked their supporters and those who trusted his Magdalo Party since 2003 when they first protested against former President Gloria Arroyo.
He said they will continue to serve and help improve the lives of the Filipinos and reach the change they dream of.
Trillanes failed to get into the Magic 12, placing 21st with 8.5 million votes following the partial and unofficial results from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) transparency server.
