Senate receives first batch of ballot boxes from Malabon, Vietnam, Cambodia
The Senate of the Philippines has received the ballot boxes containing the Certificates of Canvass (COCs) and election returns (ERs) from Cambodia, Vietnam and Malabon City.
The ballot boxes would then be stored inside the Senate building in Pasay City until such time Congress convenes as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) for votes cast for president and vice president.
The ballot boxes from Malabon City were received by the Senate on Tuesday night, while the ballot boxes from Cambodia and Vietnam arrived in the Senate on Wednesday morning.
Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, in an earlier interview, said the Senate and House of Representatives are set to resume sessions on May 23, after which, Congress will convene as NBOC and start the official count of votes for president and vice president.
