'Filipino people have spoken': Palace congratulates 2022 elections winners
Two days after the conduct of the elections, Malacañang on Wednesday congratulated the presumptive winners of this year's race and called on the public to unite as the nation is set to welcome a new administration.
In a statement, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said "the Filipino people have spoken and now is the time to heal and unite as one nation and one people."
"As we wait for the official and final results, we have to underscore that this year's political exercise is a showcase of the strength of our democratic system and institutions," he added.
Palace also said that the high voter turnout in this year's elections only proved "the growing political interest and maturity of our people."
As the Palace congratulated winners as they embark on new challenges and responsibilities, it also commended the public for its cooperation in ensuring the 2022 national and local elections are generally peaceful and orderly.
"Mabuhay ang Pilipinas. Mabuhay ang mga Pilipino (Long live Philippines. Long live Filipinos)," Andanar said.
