Esperon said that by now, Robredo should realize that the 16 million vote-lead of Marcos Jr. over Robredo is insurmountable even as he urged the opposition leader to clarify her prior statements about respecting the will of the people.

“Ang sinasabi niyang (What she’s referring to as the) will of the people, the will of the 14 million. Dapat liwanagin niya (She should clarify this). Magconcede na lang siya (She should just concede) and find a way to serve the nation in many ways,” Esperon said at the Kapihan sa Manila Bay.

On Tuesday, Robredo broke her silence over the partial and unofficial results of the elections which set Marcos for a landslide victory.

“Palinaw na ng palinaw ang tinig ng bayan. Kailangan natin pakinggan ang tinig na ito dahil sa huli, iisa lang ang bayan na pinagsasaluhan natin (The voice of the nation is getting clearer. We need to listed to this voice because in the end, we only have one nation to share),” Robredo said.

Marcos still leads the elections with 31,091,482 while Robredo was trailing at the second spot with 14,815,276 votes, based from the partial and unofficial results of the Commission on Elections’ (Comelec) transparency server as of 7:32 p.m. Wednesday.
