Days after the May 9 National and Local polls, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) reported that
835 cities and municipalities have already made their local proclamation.

In a press briefing on Wednesday, May 11, Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said this is around 54.43 percent of the total 46 cities and 1,488 municipalities expected to make their proclamation.
Comelec Commissioner George Garcia earlier said its possible that some local candidates could be proclaimed on the eve of May 9 such as those for Mayor.
"Maybe early part of May 10, we can proclaim the Congressman, Governor, Vice Governor, and Sangguniang Panlalawigan," he said that time.
