The police arrested five suspects and seized suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth nearly P90,000 in two operations in Muntinlupa and Taguig a day after the elections.
At about 10:15 p.m. on May 10, the Muntinlupa police’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) conducted a buy-bust operation along San Guillermo Street in Barangay Bayanan.

Arrested during the operation were two drug suspects identified by the police as Nikka Carmona, 31, and Irene Larra Villanueva, 31, both residents of Muntinlupa.
Seized and recovered during the operation were four plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with a total weight of 10 grams amounting to P68,000 and one P500 bill used a buy-bust money.
Meanwhile, the Taguig police’s Sub-Station 8 conducted “Oplan Galugad” at Block 1 Purok 13 in Barangay South Daang Hari, resulting in the arrest of suspects Rene Gutierez, 36; Sherely Santos, 42; and Ramil Guira, 28, all residents of Taguig City, who were caught in possession and control of suspected shabu.
Recovered from the suspects were three plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 3.07 grams with a value of P20,876.00.
All the arrested suspects are now under the custody of the police.
“Yes, we are still securing the counting of election returns but I believe that we must not stop in our campaign against illegal drugs,” said Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg.
