Sandro has message to those who didn't support his dad Bongbong

Sandro Marcos is asking supporters of his father's rivals in the May 9 presidential race to work with them in improving the state of the country.

Sandro, the eldest son of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer Bongbong Marcos, addressed a sizeable crowd of people that gathered outside the BBM headquarters in Mandaluyong City during the wee hours of Tuesday, May 10.

The gathering had a celebratory mood as Bongbong had, at this point, built a mighty lead over his closest opponent, opposition leader and Vice President Leni Robredo.

"Nanalo tayo sa laban, pero ang tunay na laban ay nagsimula pa lang (We won the battle, but the true battle has just begun)," said Sandro, who himself appear to be en route to victory in his bid for the congressional seat in the 1st district of Ilocos Norte.

"Kaya ang hinihingi ko po sa inyong lahat rito...Sana naman po, tuloy-tuloy ang inyong suporta para kay Bongbong Marcos, tuluy-tuloy ang inyong suporta para kay Inday Sara Duterte (So what I'm asking from all of you here...I hope you give continous support to Bongbong Marcos and Inday Sara Duterte)," the younger Marcos said.

"Kaya yan po ang assignment ko sa inyong lahat ngayon. Kahit pink, kahit dilaw, kahit Pacquiao, kahit 'two joints', ipakita natin basta't tayo ay nagkakaisa, ang asikasuhin natin ang pag-unlad ng ating minamahal natin na Pilipinas (So that's my assignment to all of you here right now. Even if you're pink, yellow, pro- Pacquiao, or 'two joints', let's show them that as long as we're united, we will work on attaining progress for our beloved Philippines)," Sandro further said.

Bongbong's running mate for the May 9 polls is Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) chairperson, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte. Together, they comprise the UniTeam.

Bongbong, 64, thanked his supporters profusely just a few hours earlier even as he noted that the counting of votes was yet to be finished.

"Ang hiniingi ko po sa inyong lahat, ipakita natin na ang mensahe ng unity na sinasabi ni BBM ay hindi lang mensahe. Ipakita natin na ngayong wala na ang halalan, kahit ano man ang inyong kulay sa pulitika, kahit red, kahit pink, kahit dilaw, kahit ano man, tayo lahat, kahit ano mang kulay, pag-isipan natin at huwag natin kalimutan na tayo rito ay Pilipino (What I ask from all of you is, let's show them that BBM's message of unity isn't a mere message. Now that the election is over, let's keep in mind and not forget that we're Filipinos, whatever our political colors are, be it red, pink, or even yellow)," Sandro said.

"Ipakita din natin na kahit ano mang political--kahit ano mang kulay sa pulitika, na gusto na natin, ngayong tapos na ang laban, na gusto na natin na tayo ay nagkakaisa at tayo ay nagtutulungan (Let's also show that whatever our political color is, now that the battle is over, that what we want is unity and cooperation)," the 28-year-old said.
