Pulse Asia’s pre-election survey results correctly predicted the rankings of the top five presidential bets, as seen in the partial and unofficial vote count for the presidential race.

“We saw essentially the same arrangement in so far as voting support for the five main contenders , from Mr. Marcos to Vice President Leni Robredo, Senator Pacquiao, Mayor Domagoso, and Senator Ping Lacson. That arrangement, that ranking was what reflected in the last survey that we conducted,” Pulse Asia president Ronald Holmes said in an interview with ANC on Tuesday afternoon. May 10.

As of 10:47 a.m. the partial and unofficial vote count shows Marcos with 30,755,045 votes.

Trailing him were Robredo (14,679,366 votes), Pacquiao (3,575,164 votes), Domagoso (1,867,888 votes), and Lacson (875,715 votes).

The same ranking was also seen in Pulse Asia’s survey from April 16 to 26.

“Our prior surveys did capture, keep close to the election results and I think in this particular round the same is observed with regard to the survey results that we last posted, plus or minus the margin of error, the support that the leaders in each of the races have is essentially quite close to what we had 20 days ago,” Holmes said.

“It (partial tally) basically builds up from what we saw in a survey that we conducted almost three weeks ago. We would have expected some changes. That’s something that we could have expected, but it did not come about as a result of many events that transpired after the survey, including the purported intensive house-to-house campaigns,” he pointed out.

However, Holmes would not look at the similar results of the partial tally and the Pulse Asia survey as a vindication after the pollster has been under fire because of its pre-election surveys.

“Just as I said, the possibility of changes in voting support was there. Of course, we’ve always stood pat on the integrity of our surveys. We make sure that our surveys are done in a reliable manner,” Holmes said.
