PPCRV expects more election returns to arrive from provinces starting May 10

More election returns (ERs) from provinces around the country and cities in Metro Manila are expected to be brought to the command center of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) in Manila during its operation here.

The church-based poll watchdog said it is expecting ERs from the provinces of Negros Occidental, Cebu, and Iloilo to be sent Tuesday, May 10. These are already confirmed "to be on the way."

As of 12:32 p.m. Tuesday, they received a total of 2,689 ERs. These were already encoded and processed, the PPCRV said.

Aside from the Visayas provinces, ERs are also expected to be brought to the PPCRV command center from the provinces and cities of Luzon, including Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Sorsogon, Cavite, Rizal, Pasig, and Batangas.

Election returns from Mindanao, specifically from Cagayan de Oro, are also expected "to be on the way here to QPAV today."

According to lawyer Vann Dela Cruz, director for legal affairs of the PPCRV, the poll watchdog hopes to encode 70 percent of election returns, duplicating their 2019 goal.

Meanwhile, Dela Cruz also said they are expecting 100 percent of the electronically transmitted results from precincts to come in Tuesday.

Election returns from various precincts are having delays due to the huge turnout of voters that resulted to long lines and extended voting on election day. The movement of the ERs is also identified as among the factors as ERs are brought physically to the command center by volunteers.
