ILOILO CITY -- Governor Rhodora “Dodod” Cadiao and Vice Governor Edgar Denosta were reelected in Antique province.
Cadiao and Denosta were formally proclaimed as winners by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday, May 10.
Cadiao won by a landslide with 217,254 votes. Her gubernatorial rivals Vicente Fedelicio garnered 66,155 votes while Remigio Petinglay got 4,085 votes.
For the vice governor, Denosta garnered 135,874 votes while his rivals, Julis Cezar Tajanlangit and Vincent Piccio III received 97,873 votes and 42,420 votes, respectively.
Antonio Agapito ‘AA’ Legarda Jr. won the congressional race for the province’s lone district, replacing his sister Loren Legarda, who is going back to the senate.
Legarda received 189,611 votes and he beat former congressman Paolo Javier who got 69,253 votes. Congressional candidates Ade Fajardo had 28,819 votes while Pao Javier only had 10,748 votes.
Elected to the Antique Provincial Board for the 1st District were Mayella Mae Plameras-Ladislao, Rony Molina, Dante Beriong, Alfie Jay Niqua, and Pio Sumande.
Elected for the Antique’s 2nd District were Noel Lamis, Karmila Rose Milay Dimamay, Sueki Palacios, and Egidio Elio.
