Record breaking.

This was how the Commission on Elections (Comelec) described the
88 percent voter turnout in the local absentee voting in the May 9 polls.
Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said such turnout was the highest.
"I'm very glad to announce that the voter turnout for this elections for those who have registered for the LAV is 88 percent," he said in a press briefing Tuesday, May 10 at the PICC Forum Tent in Pasay City.
"This the highest turnout since 2010 where we are averaging at 74 percent, 2013 at 64 percent, both 77 percent in 2016 and 2019," added Laudiangco
"This is record breaking for the Committee on Local Absentee Voting (CLAV)," he said.
The Comelec earlier set local absentee voting for the May 2022 polls from April 27 to 29.
Under the LAV, government officials and employees; personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police; as well as members of the media, including their technical and support staff, are allowed to avail of local absentee voting.
This is as long as they are duly registered voters, whose registration records are not deactivated; and will be temporarily assigned to perform election duties or to cover and report on the conduct of elections in places where they are not registered voters.
