The Marikina City local government recorded only nine active Covid-19 cases as of Thursday, April 7, with eight out of 16 barangays logging zero active cases.
The city observed a 10-point decline from the previous tally, which was 19 active Covid-19 cases as of March 26.
Among barangays with zero active cases are Barangka, Concepcion Uno, Marikina Heights, Nangka, Parang, San Roque, Sta. Elena, and Tañong.
Barangays Concepcion Dos, Fortune, Jesus Dela Peña, Kalumpang, Malanday, Sto. Niño, and Tumana each logged one active case.
Meanwhile, Barangay Industrial Valley Complex (IVC) recorded two active cases.
Barangay Marikina Heights had the highest death count with 70 deaths while the lowest was Barangay IVC with 12 deaths.
To curb the resurgence of Covid cases, the local government reminded residents to continue wearing face masks, washing and sanitizing properly, as well as practicing social distancing in public areas.
As of April 7, the city has recorded a total of 35,128 confirmed cases, 34,401 recoveries, and 718 deaths.
