CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- A total of 601 police personnel have been deployed in different cities and provinces in Northern Mindanao to provide intensive security and for peacekeeping in the national and local elections on May 9, 2022.

The Police Regional Office (PRO) 10 conducted the ceremonial turnover of personnel on Thursday, April 7 in the regional headquarters located at Camp 1Lt Vicente G Alagar, Lapasan village in this city.
The deployed cops are going to their duties fresh from the mandatory career courses of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
In addition, 347 newly-graduated police personnel of Basic Internal Security Operation Course (BISOC) were also deployed to their respective police provincial offices (PPOs) and city police offices (CPOs) as additional forces.
Brig. Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr., PRO-10 director, stressed that the personnel were given lectures and seminars pertaining to NLE 2022.
The deployed police personnel were also provided risk and threat assessment and recommendations on the peace and order situation to make them knowledgeable enough of the situation prior to their deployment.
Acorda said the police deployment aims to avoid any election-related incidents in order to ensure the safe, accurate, fair and free elections.
"We want to ensure that any election-related incidents will be prevented for the upcoming election. That is why our police personnel here in the PRO-10 are ready to provide security, especially those areas in Northern Mindanao that are considered as election hotspots," Acorda said.
In his previous statement, Acorda said the police and the Commission on Elections (Comelec) have started closely keeping an eye on the 217 barangays from across the region and to provide measures to prevent any attempt to disrupt the elections in the villages.
The PRO-10 asked the full support of the public to support the government's campaign against criminality, especially in the upcoming election.
