Old woman dies, 1 hurt in Quiapo fire

One person died and another was injured during a fire that broke out at a residential area on Recto Avenue, Quiapo, Manila on Friday morning, April 8.

According to the report of the Bureau of Fire Protection Public Information Office (BFP NCR PIO), the victim was identified as Mary Castillo, 70.

The BFP also identified the injured victim as George Dy.

The report said the fire was raised to 1st alarm at around 5:43 a.m. and reached 2nd alarm at around 5:53 a.m.

At 6:11 a.m., the fire reached 3rd alarm.

Firefighters declared the fire under control at around 7:12 a.m and was extinguished at around 7:30 a.m.

The BFP said that 20 families were affected by the fire. Investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
