DUMPER PTDA Party-list press statement on fuel subsidy exemption

During COMELEC's En Banc session today, the COMELEC granted the LTFRB's petition to exempt the fuel subsidy program from the election ban on public spending for government projects.

We laud and thank the COMELEC and the LTFRB for their swift action on this matter. The fuel subsidy is crucial in ensuring that proper financial assistance is given to PUV drivers and operators who have been struggling to recover from the pandemic and are now battling unprecedented oil price surges.

DUMPER PTDA fought to ensure that these subsidies (fuel subsidies, service contracting, and financial assistance) were included in the 2022 National Budget to help our transportation drivers and operators recover from the pandemic. Given the soaring fuel prices, these subsidies are needed more than ever.

Despite all the hardships faced by our sector, we are confident that when all of us work together, we can overcome anything. Dahil sa biyaheng DUMPER, walang drayber ang maiiwan.
