BTS' Jin to have limited performance at Las Vegas concert due to finger injury

Grammy-nominated K-pop idol group BTS will be starting their Las Vegas concert on April 8 but member Jin will have limited performance due to his finger injury for which he underwent surgery in March.

After attending the 64th Grammy Awards, BTS will hold their “BTS Permission to Dance on Stage-Las Vegas” on April 8, 9, 15 and 16 at Allegiant Stadium.

In an announcement, Big Hit Music said, “As we informed you on March 19 (KST), Jin had injured his left index finger as the tendons in the finger had been partially damaged and underwent surgery to repair the extensor in the finger.”

“It was the opinion of the medical personnel that Jin should refrain from vigorous movement as any impact on his finger due to the amount of activities increased more than necessary, while he is still recovering from the injury, may cause another surgery,” it said.

According to Big Hit, while Jin “himself strongly wished to participate in the performance in full, our company has decided to follow physician advice and minimize Jin’s movements during the “BTS Permission to Dance on Stage-Las Vegas” concerts on all the above mentioned dates.”

“As a result, Jin’s choreography and stage performance will be limited to a certain extent. We ask for your understanding and support from all our fans. We will continue to place the highest priority on the health and safety of our artists, and strive to ensure that all the members of BTS can meet their fans in full health,” it said.

At the Grammy Awards, Jin wore a cast to protect his left hand.

After the show, BTS held a live broadcast on Naver V Live and talked about their experience at the Grammys.

In one portion of the video, when the champagne was opened, Jin was startled by the popping sound and appeared to have hit his left hand on his knee. He was seen in pain in the video.

Jin took to the Weverse app and posted that he is doing fine and not in pain.

“No, my finger really doesn’t hurt. I still have the wrap on my hand, because it would need another surgery if there’s a large impact on it,” he said, according to SBS News.

He added, “So, if I pretend like it hurts, people are cautious around me. This is a tip for you. It honestly doesn’t hurt!”
