Alert Level 1 downgrade extended to 21 more areas --- Andanar
More areas in the country will be placed under the least restrictive Alert Level 1 amid the continuous downtrend in the number of Covid-19 cases.

In a statement on Friday, April 8, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said the new classification would take effect starting Saturday, April 9.
Here are the additional areas to be placed under Alert Level 1 until April 15:
- Mountain Province
- Buguias, Benguet
- Atimonan, Quezon
- Tiaong, Quezon
- Santa Magdalena, Sorsogon
- Masbate City
- Southern Leyte
- Misamis Oriental
- Batad, Iloilo
- Zarraga, Iloilo
- Talisay City, Cebu
- Javier (Bugho), Leyte
- La Paz, Leyte
- Maslog, Eastern Samar
- Paranas (Wright), Samar
- Linamon, Lanao del Norte
- Calamba, Misamis Occidental
- Padada, Davao del Sur
- Sibagat, Agusan del Sur
- Tubajon, Dinagat Islands
- Cagdianao, Dinagat Islands
The government’s pandemic task force earlier placed the National Capital Region (NCR) and 198 other areas under Alert Level 1 for the first half of April.
Meanwhile, areas not included in the list will remain under the prevailing alert level until April 15.
"All other provisions as to the Alert Level of provinces, highly urbanized cities, independent component cities, component cities and municipalities under IATF Resolution No.165-E not affected by the abovementioned Alert Level classification shall remain in effect until April 15, 2022," Andanar said.
