Police seized a total of P340,000 worth of alleged shabu from a woman and her live-in partner in a buy-bust operation in Caloocan City early Thursday morning, April 7.
The Northern Police District (NPD) Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) identified the suspects as Benita Belluco, 53, and Ruben Asuncion, 58, both residing at No. 72 Payapa Street, 6th Avenue, Barangay 125, Caloocan City.
The DDEU said they launched the entrapment operation at the suspects’ house at around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday after receiving intelligence information about their illegal drug activities.
A police poseur-buyer successfully bought alleged shabu from the suspects which led to their arrest.
Authorities confiscated 50 grams of “shabu” valued at P340,000, the buy-bust money, and a belt bag from the suspects.
Belluco and Asuncion will be charged for violations of Section 5 (Selling of Dangerous Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 26 (Conspiracy) of the Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
