GSIS gets Covid-19 Safety Seal

The main office of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) in Pasay City has secured a Covid-19 Safety Seal Certification from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Such was to ensure the public that minimum health and safety protocols are being strictly observed at the main office of GSIS amid the pandemic.

"We support the national government in reopening the economy safely. GSIS voluntarily applied for the certification so that our members and pensioners will feel safe transacting in our office. These measures have actually been in place since we reopened to the public after quarantine restrictions were eased in 2020," said GSIS General Manager Rolando Ledesma said in a statement.

Some modifications done by the GSIS for the new normal were placing handwashing stations with soap, sanitizers, and tissues near the entrance of its main building.

As such, the agency adopted the contact tracing application StaySafe.ph in February 2021 to minimize using the fillable health declaration forms by clients and employees.

Thermal scanners have also been placed at the entrance of the office to check the body temperature of people going inside the building.

GSIS also utilizes a computer system that automatically counts people inside the building, ensuring that the capacity requirement is met.

Also installed at client counters and cafeteria were physical barriers.

GSIS also placed markers in elevators and corridors to remind people to practice social distancing at all times.

To ensure proper ventilation, GSIS said windows and doors of closed spaces are opened regularly to ensure air circulation.

Cleaning and disinfection are conducted twice every day, it added.

GSIS also has isolation tents for employees and clients exhibiting Covid-like symptoms.
